Introduction to Seed Saving, Tuesday 21st February 2012

7.30pm – 9.30 pm @ Fife Diet Meeting Room, Burntisland  Learn the how’s and why’s of seed saving

ReDesigning the School Menu, Friday 24th February 2012

11 – 12pm @ Inverkeithing High School Students will be planning and re-designing their own school menu to be more sustainable using only local and seasonal ingredients.

 

GROW FORTH! Low Carbon Stirling Local Food Summit, Saturday 25th February 2012

10 – 2pm @ Albert Halls, Dumbarton Road, Stirling. Celebrate local food at GrowFORTH – a local food summit being hosted by Low Carbon Stirling. The summit is an opportunity for anyone interested in local sustainable food to come together to share experiences, interests, ideas and to create opportunities. More here.

Planning and Designing your Garden Space, Sunday 26th February 2012

11 – 3pm @ St Serf’s Hall, Burntisland  Learn about the gardening calendar and principles of organic gardening, inclusion of companion planting, edible flowers and encouraging wildlife.  Attendees are invited to bring – or can prepare on the day  – informal plans of their garden.

Weird Veg Workshop, Monday 27th February 2012

2 – 4pm @ Mansfield, St Andrews  Learn about the veg that arrives in your veg box, from celeriac, to kohl rabi, there’s some challenging winter veg that needs eaten. Don’t worry – we have loads of ideas for cheap and easy recipes to help you out.
Free and open to all.

Kinghorn Toddler Group, Ready Steady Cook. 1st March. Invitation only.

Kinghorn Toddler Group have taken up the challenge to Make it Happen! The group will be joined by Fife’s Food Ambassador Christopher Trotter who will take on the challenge of transforming a veg box, a couple of mystery ingredients and some storecupbaord stalwarts into a family-friendly feast.

Food For Free , Sunday 4th March 2012

11 -1pm @ BROOMHILL GARDENS, Burntisland How do you find the free and tasty food growing in and around your town?  We will walk from Broomhill Gardens around Burntisland exploring and discovering what wild food is on offer in the early spring.

TEDX Glasgow , Enlightenment 2.0 Sunday 4th March 2012

12.30 -7.30pm @ CCA Glasgow ‘We will be exploring transformational ideas in education, economy, health and wellbeing in what should be an uplifting experience that stimulates thought and action.’ Go here for all details and to book.

Cultured Culross. 7th March. Invitation only.

Culross’ Rainbow House Toddler Group have taken up the challenge to Make it Happen! The group will be joined by Steamie Bakehouse’s Matthew Roberts who will show the group how to use cultures, making such dishes as sourdough bread, yogurt and sauerkraut.
