Fife Diet AGM and Ceilidh – Saturday 15th February, Cupar Corn Exchange
So hopefully you’ve already booked your place to join us at our get together in Cupar on the 15th February to eat, dance and discuss the future of food and the Fife Diet! But would you like to get more involved in helping to make this our best event ever? There’s a number of ways you can contribute.
We’re looking for people to help out throughout the day, from setting up the hall in the morning, to helping prepare the evening meal, stewarding guests in the venue, and getting the party started at the ceilidh. We’ll cover volunteers travel expenses to Cupar, and if you’re keen to take part in a particular part of the programme, don’t worry – we’ll make sure you’re free of your duties at this time. If you’d like to help, email firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to do.
Bring along some home baking
If you’ve been to one of our events before, you’ll know we don’t like anyone to go home hungry! We’ll be nourishing you all with lunchtime soup and an evening meal, but we’d also like to run a cafe throughout the afternoon selling refreshments and home baking, to help us raise funds for our new food coop (more details of which to be announced at the event…). If you make the best bannocks or superlative scones, bring them along with you on the day and the staff at the registration desk will be happy to take them from you.
We’re all a bit obsessed with cook books here at the Fife Diet office, but there comes a point when your shelves begin to buckle and the layer of dust on certain tomes is getting rather thick, and you know it’s time for a clear out. Bring along your pre-loved cookbooks to our amnesty and fill all the space you’ve just made with new ones! Those contributing books can swap one-for-one with others at the amnesty table, then later in the day any remaining books will be up for sale in exchange for donations for the food coop. Bring you books along on the day and hand them in at registration, or if anyone has a particularly large collection they’d like to donate, call the office on 01592 871371 and we’ll see if we can collect them in advance.
With just over two weeks to go, we’re very excited about this year’s event, and look forward to seeing you all there!
