Rob Hopkins, founder of the Transition Towns movement gave this year’s annual Patrick Geddes RTPI lecture in Edinburgh last week.

His themes were ‘engaged optimism’ and ‘local action’. Geddes’s thinking inspired much of the Fife Diet with its emphasis on a regionalist outlook, the idea of ecology and community and the notion of active citizenship.

You can follow Rob’s blog ‘Transition Culture’ here.

Rob’s well equipped to talk about Geddes as he follows in his footsteps as a generalist and a committed thinker/activist.
