Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th March, 10am – 2pm – Broomhill Gardens, Burntisland

FULLY BOOKED - however, if you would like your name placed on a waiting list in case of cancellations for either day, please email us on the contact below.

Growing some of your own food is a key principle when it comes to the Fife Diet. Whether it’s a full scale allotment or a few tubs on the patio, food from your back garden has one of the lowest carbon footprints possible. We know it can be scary though, especially when you’re more used to veg coming picked, washed, and ready to chop from the local supermarket. The hardest part is often just figuring out where to start – what should I grow? When do I start planting? Does it matter what type my soil is?

The Fife Diet is here to help though. Our first free workshop this year will be a Beginners Grow Your Own session, designed to help fill you with ideas and inspiration for the year ahead! We’ll cover all the basics to get you started, and help you come up with a design and plan for your own growing area, no matter how large or small.

Places are free to Fife Diet members, although if you’d like to bring a friend along who’s not a member they can join on the day. Tea / Coffee and a light lunch will be provided, and you’ll get the chance to meet other Fife Diet members starting out on their growing journey too. To book a place, or for more information, email

Let us point you in the right direction!

Thanks Helen, we try our best to spread our activities and workshops across Fife, but when it comes to growing workshops we have a space here in Burntisland which is set up specifically to hold these. However, if you have your own facility or group in North East Fife and would like the Fife Diet to hold a workshop there, please don’t hesistate to email us on the address above.

Sounds as though it’s going to be a good day!

It’s just a pity that it’s too far away for our groups here in North East Fife.

    Good luck on the day.

It will be good to hear how it all went!

How can I book a place on this course? I am already a member but I can’t find the usual page on fife diet website to book a place for events? Thanks in advance.

The workshop is on a Saturday, so hopefully you should be able to attend after all! We like our Sundays too here at the Fife Diet.

Id love to come but a Sunday is out of the question for me and many of my friends as well. We are church goes and consider Sunday a sacred family day for worship etc.
Please PLease PLease can you have something on another day?

    Thank you in advance.
