Serves 2


100g red lentils
450ml veg stock
small grated onion
2 chopped tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 finely chopped red chilli
1 large carrot, finely chopped
2 handfuls of kale, chopped


Put the lentils, veg stock, onion and the spices into a pan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the carrot and cook until tender, another 10-12 minutes.
Stir in the kale and cook for a couple of minutes until wilted.
Serve with naans. See naan recipe
