445g (1lb) sardines, fresh or defrrosted, cleaned
200g jar barbeque sauce


Preheat the barbeque or grill. Place the sardines into a shallow dish and pour over the barbeque sauce. Cover and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.

Remove the sardines and place on a grill or on the barbeque and cook for 3-4 minutes each side until crisp.  Brush with any remaining sauce while cooking.

Serve with grilled tomatoes, and lemon wedges.
