It’s an exciting time of year as Spring turns into Summer – and hopefully the dry April will be good for a bumper crop. So here’s who’s got what across Fife right now…

Muddy Boots at Balmalcolm and Blacketyside, past Leven, both have home-grown asparagus on sale right now. Check out some of our asparagus recipe ideas here. Muddy Boots have strawberries about to arrive too…first variety is Honeoye, then, Clery, Elsinore, Darcy through the summer.

Pittormie Farm (by Dairsie) are probably 2/3 weeks away, before strawberries are ready. But they do have plenty of Rhubarb (Victoria and Timperly), plus lots of grow your own herbs (Choc/Apple/Indian Mint, Sage, Thyme, Fennell, Parsley, Coriander, Curry Plant, Dill, Chervil…..).

Allanhill Fruit Farm have Elsanta strawberries ready now.

Cairnie Fruit Farm will have strawbs on offer by the end of June: Elsanta, Sonata and Ava.

Pillars of Hercules by Falkland are now picking pak choi, radish, salad onions, mixed salads, parsley, chives, coriander, chard. Coming very soon: spinach, spring greens, dill, basil & kale.

Bellfield Organics have salad crops ready as well as spring cabbage, purple pak choi and radish.

    Crail strawberries are on sale at First Fruits in Crail and I hear Pittenweem Strawberries
    are on sale at Ardross Farm Shop in Elie.
